Let’s say you have created and awesome logo for you friend’s business. You are so proud of your designs and you want to share it on your Social Media for everyone to see. How can you make it so the post gets more engagement?
There are 3 simple steps that will help you reach your goals.
1. Mock Up’s!
This does not apply to picture editing as you can just post the picture with a nice caption. However, logos, posters or designs that in the future will go printed, engraved or put somewhere else, it is better if you create a mock up view of how will it look like when it is put in its place. Following with the example that I mentioned before, you now have the perfect logo for your friends company. The best way to showcase is doing a mock up view of how it would look in a business card or in a t-shirt. That way people will see it a real thing rather than just a design.
2. Description
It is very important to describe your work. People want to know what are they looking at. If they have no idea about the why you designed it that way or what was your thought process, they will create they own idea of the design and then lose the interest much faster. Once you describe your intentions, people try to find a relationship between your thought process and the image they are looking at. It is then when they decide if it is a good design for them or not.
3. Choose the right Hashtags
It is very important to choose hashtags for each post individually. It is also good to have some general hashtags or categories that relate directly to your brand, but if you use them constantly they will start losing importance for your posts. For that you have to use hashtags that relate to each of your designs. In the logo example we would use things like: #logo #logodesign # companyName #businesscard, etc. The more personalised the content is, the more engagement you will get!
